KuJan ("Ku Janë" — "where are they") is a free travel guide to Albania that also shows public transport in Tirana as it runs. It covers 868 places across 12 cities — beaches, lakes, castles, museums, parks and the neighbourhoods where people actually live — together with 1 guided walking tours and 4 curated collections. It works in a browser on any device, with nothing to download and no account required to use the map.
Who makes it. KuJan is built and operated by Undiscovered Tech, a small independent software company based in Tirana, Albania. It is not a municipal service and not affiliated with any transport operator — it is an independent product built on top of publicly published data, which is why this page exists to say plainly where every part of it comes from.
Public transport data. Routes, stops and timetables for the 18 live lines and 487 stops come from the official GTFS feed published by Bashkia Tiranë (the Municipality of Tirana), licensed CC-BY-SA-4.0. We re-import that feed automatically every night, so when the municipality republishes a timetable KuJan follows it without anyone editing anything by hand. Where our data and the municipality's disagree, the municipality is the source of truth and the difference is a bug on our side.
Places, photos and opening hours. The 868 landmark entries — the name, category, coordinates, description, opening hours and whether entry is free or ticketed — are researched and maintained by us, not scraped. They are corrected continuously as places change, and anyone can report a correction from inside the app.
Visitor reviews and photos. Star ratings, written reviews and photos or videos of a place are submitted by people using KuJan. Nothing appears publicly until a human has reviewed it: every submission sits in a moderation queue first, and the person who submitted it is told when it is approved or why it was not. Ratings shown on a place are computed only from approved reviews.
Maps. The base map, geocoding and walking, cycling and driving directions are provided by Mapbox. Place names on the map are shown in the local language inside Albania.
What it costs. The map, live transport, journey planning, stop departure boards and every place page are free and stay free. An optional subscription, KuJan Pro, unlocks cities beyond the free zone and removes the saved-item limit; it changes no transport data whatsoever.
