Korça, the Little Paris

Korça earned its “Little Paris” nickname with its boulevards, old villas and cultural life. This walk runs from the restored 19th-century bazaar to the country’s oldest mosque, up the pedestrian boulevard past the villas to the Cathedral, and ends with the two museums that make Korça unique: the Education Museum — the first Albanian-language school, opened in 1887 — and the Museum of Medieval Art with one of the Balkans’ finest icon collections. In the evening, seek out the serenades and the local beer.
