Ancient Durrës, from the amphitheatre to the Vollga

Durrës is one of Albania's oldest cities and its layers show on every street. The walk starts at the Roman amphitheatre, part of whose seating still hides under houses, then passes the great mosque on the main square and the Venetian tower of the walls. Next comes the Archaeological Museum with finds from Dyrrachium, and finally the Vollga, the seafront promenade. All on foot, within the centre.
