Butrint, 3,000 years in one walk

Butrint is a UNESCO-listed ancient city on a peninsula between Lake Butrint and the Vivari Channel. Greeks, Romans, Byzantines and Venetians each left their mark, and the forest path passes them in turn: the theatre and the shrine of Asclepius, the Roman baths, the Triconch Palace, the baptistery and the Great Basilica, the city gates and finally the acropolis with its museum. The loop takes about 2 hours. Entry is ticketed. Bring water in summer.
