The surviving walls of Tirana’s old fortress, first built in the Byzantine era and rebuilt by the Toptani family in the 18th and 19th centuries. Today a short pedestrian street runs through it, lined with cafés, restaurants and craft shops, a few steps from Skanderbeg Square.
