Monumenti i Mbretëreshës Ilire Teuta
Monument
Standing approximately 9 metres tall at the panoramic viewpoint of Shëngjin, the Monument to Queen Teuta is a striking landmark overlooking the coastal landscape of northern Albania. The monumental sculpture depicts Queen Teuta, one of the most prominent figures associated with ancient Illyrian history.
Created by Albanian sculptor Julian Muçollari, the monument was initiated by journalist Marin Mema and supported by Albanians in the diaspora. Its prominent position near Rana e Hedhun, along the Shëngjin–Velipojë route, makes it both a cultural landmark and a new point of interest for visitors exploring the region.
The monument connects Shëngjin's modern coastal tourism with the ancient history and cultural heritage of the area, offering visitors a memorable place to stop, admire the surrounding landscape and discover the story of Queen Teuta.
