Archaeological Site The Ancient Theatre of Apollonia

The Ancient Theatre of Apollonia was built in the mid-3rd century BC and became one of the most prominent public monuments of the ancient city. With an auditorium of approximately 120 meters in diameter, it was among the largest theatres in the Adriatic and northwestern Greek region. During the Roman period, the theatre was modified to accommodate spectacles including gladiatorial competitions.
