Archaeological Site
The Synagogue–Basilica archaeological site preserves the remains of an important religious complex of ancient Onhezmus, associated with Sarandë’s historic Jewish community. The complex contains several phases of construction from Late Antiquity, including a synagogue with distinctive mosaic floors featuring Jewish symbols such as a menorah, shofar and etrog, later incorporated into a Christian basilica.
