Thrown Sand Beach

Plazhi Rana e Hedhun

Beach

A natural monument about 4 km north-west of Shëngjin: sand dunes climbing up to 80 m against the hillside, as if the sand were poured from the mountain into the sea — hence the Gheg name, “thrown sand”. Sculpted by the Murlan wind, it is a spot for swimming, dune climbing and photography, with the whole Drin bay visible from the top.
