Galeria Kombëtare e Arteve
MuseumAlbania's national collection of fine art, founded in 1946 and housed since 1974 in this building on Bulevardi Dëshmorët e Kombit. Its roughly 4,800 works run from medieval icons to the art of the National Renaissance and a large body of socialist-realist painting and sculpture. The gallery has been closed since October 2021 for a reconstruction that keeps the historic building and adds a new wing behind it; no reopening date has been announced.
