The Monastery of Saint Mary is a medieval Byzantine monastery located within the archaeological park of ancient Apollonia. The Church of the Dormition of Saint Mary dates to the beginning of the 13th century and features a distinctive cross-shaped plan with a central dome, combining Byzantine and Romanesque architectural elements. Parts of the complex were built using stones and architectural elements reused from ancient Apollonia, including the ancient theatre.
