Manastiri i Ardenicës
Historical Monument
Ardenica Monastery is one of Albania's most important cultural and spiritual heritage monuments, built in the 13th century on the hills of Ardenica. It is famous as the place where Albania's national hero Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg married Andronika Arianiti in 1451, and for its remarkable Byzantine-style frescoes created by renowned Albanian iconographers such as the Zografi brothers and Kostandin Shpataraku.
