The Church of the Council of Arbër, dedicated to Saint John the Baptist, is a historic Catholic church in Mërqi, near Lezhë. First mentioned in 1629, it became historically significant in 1703, when the Council of Arbër was held here, bringing together Albanian Catholic clergy and addressing the religious, cultural and linguistic life of Albanians.
