Tepelena Castle is a historic fortress overlooking the confluence of the Vjosa and Drino rivers. Closely associated with Ali Pasha of Tepelena, the castle was expanded and strengthened under his rule and served as an important strategic stronghold. Its massive stone walls, towers and commanding position make it one of the defining landmarks of Tepelenë.
