Monument
The Independence Memorial is located in Rinia Park, near the Taiwan area and Dëshmorët e Kombit Boulevard in central Tirana. Inaugurated on November 28, 2012, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Albania's independence, the monument symbolizes the Albanian people's freedom, independence, and resilience. Designed by architects Visar Obrija and Kai Roman Kikla, the monument takes the form of an open tower, representing Albania's journey toward liberty and openness. Today, it is one of Tirana's most recognizable landmarks and an important historical and tourist attraction.
