“Peeping Tom” is a classic of British cinema that will be screened as part of British-Ukrainian Cultural Week, with an introduction and commentary by British film historian and critic Ian Christie.

Michael Powell’s film follows a young cameraman obsessed with capturing fear through his camera. Harshly criticized when it was released, it was later rediscovered as one of the most radical films in British cinema, provocatively addressing the gaze, filmmaking, and voyeurism.

Ian Christie, Professor Emeritus at Birkbeck, University of London, and a Fellow of the British Academy, is one of the renowned scholars of film and media history.
