Korçë has mountains on its doorstep. Mount Morava rises above the town, with limestone full of fossils from an ancient sea and Çardhak at the top. To the south, the Gramoz viewpoint looks over the mountains between Dardhë and Nikolicë. To the east, the road drops towards Prespa, with the Cave of Tren, which holds traces of prehistoric settlement, and the medieval church on Maligrad island. Two days is ideal. Autumn comes early in Korçë: bring warm clothes.
