Kukës sits on the shore of Lake Fierza, with the Gjallica and Koritnik mountains around it. From town you can reach the Lojme highlands with their wide meadows, the Red Spring with its rust-coloured water and two waterfalls at the foot of the mountains. Gjallica peak, around 2,489 metres, is only for experienced hikers in the right season. In autumn go on a clear day and bring warm clothes.
