Kelmend and Vermosh

Kelmend is the northernmost corner of Albania, between the Alps and the border with Montenegro. From Shkodër the road winds up above Rrapsh, then drops into the Cem valley and carries on towards Lëpushë and Vermosh. Along the way there are narrow canyons and waterfalls that run full in autumn. Plan two days, with a night in a guesthouse. From late November the passes can have snow: ask about the road before you set off.
